Did you know the people who deliver liquor and wine in New York are on strike? Thats what the man at the wine store told me. I don't mean to incite a riot, but you may want to add a bottle of Jack to your "in case of emergency" stock pile.
Yesterday after starting my official fall cleaning/rearrange of my apartment I came across a gift I recieved when I was about 14. I can't believe I still have it. Of course I had to take pictures with it. This is the view out my apartment if you were a fly.
When I decided to move to the Bococa area (I'm in Carroll Gardens) I remember thinking that walking down the side streets was very reminiscent of wandering the neighborhoods of Amsterdam and it made me happy inside just to see the rows of brownstones. I do live in perhaps the most beautiful neighborhood in New York. I'm not working this week and have spent my days off walking through the crunchy leaves enjoying the area.
Which leads me to these two pictures. The first is one of my favorites that I took in Amsterdam.
As I was walking home from the gym yesterday I was marvelling at the way the light was shining on the back of the brownstones and I love symmetry so I took this picture.
But its not the same, not even close. I have a lot more wandering to do. In actuality I think the biggest mistake was capturing the backs of the buildings not the front, but the sun was setting, what can you do? And there's just too many trees on the other side.
