The New Apartment

I know what you're thinking.  You're thinking I've gone insane.  But, the possibilities of this place are very exciting.  You have to remember that its being painted (and cleaned).

This yellow, with all my stuff and some creative decorating, this apartment is going to be fun.  There's also a kitchen behind that wall that I'm painting a vibrant blue.  The fluorescent lights are going to be the one main, lingering issue.  The super told me I could ask him to do anything to the apartment, but taking those down was out of the question.   Fine, overhead lights are lame anyways and I've already been scouring Ebay for alternatives.  When I first saw this apartment it reminded me  so much of an old boy/friend's apartment in Gramercy.   He, as well as his apartment, were classically New York and I always envied him for the space he had.

I think it looks great! Yeah, the fluorescents suck, but, like you said, there's ways around it.

Nille, I love the color you chose. Isn't there some sort of colored cover you can place over the lights to soften it some. I would be checking at Home Depot....they may be able to help some. Did you get a package from Teri yet?
Mommy

Hi Mommy and Jere - I like the idea of covering the lights. Maybe I can make some use out of my sewing machine and make some flowey covers to put over those obnoxious lights. Something to make you want to look at that awesome ceiling!
