I'm back at least for a few days. What a massive amount of driving in so few days. I learned that I hate Vegas. I just do, it's never pleasant. The highlight was a cover band I came across on the last night that did lots of Journey and U2 songs and skanky girls humped the floor in front of the stage. Yosemite was nice, although I think I now know to just hike with someone who's in the same skill level, it helps alleviate the stress of trying to keep up. The altitude killed me, in fact my ears just finally popped. And Death Valley was super hot, though beautiful. And the Grand Canyon? It was grand! I took a helicopter ride into it and it was breath taking. We even stopped and had some champagne midway through the flight. I'd tell you more but I need some time off first. Flying in general was a fucking nightmare. The first flight out I barely made my flight and the people at American Airlines didn't give a crap. I waited over an hour to check my bags and they refused to help me even though my flight was boarding. They were even being completely unhelpful to the dad from the Wonder Years who kindly patted my shoulder and said, "its okay dear, I'm going to miss my flight, too". The flight back I waited over 2 hours for my bags and when my pack came out they'd ripped off the back harness. I hate them. My new philosophy is that if Jet Blue doesn't go there, its probably not worth seeing.
I'll cheer up and get back to you.
